About me

Statement

Painting life in colors, with colorful brushstrokes, ranging from the figurative to the abstract, to portray emotions and landscapes of the inner world. With touches of fantasy, dreams and imagination, I mix and interpret what I see. I have always been a lover of nature, I am passionate about observing the wide range of colors and combinations that can be found in it, which has been a source of my inspiration.

“My goal is to convey positive feelings, joy, happiness and harmony.”

~ Zarina Tollini

Artistic biography

Born in the Aconcagua Valley, city of Los Andes, Chile. Of an Italian father and a Chilean mother, descendant of German immigrants. Grow up close to the countryside, surrounded by nature, both in her hometown and southern Chile. In her youth, she lived between her hometown and the capital city, Santiago de Chile. Once her second son was born, she moved permanently to live in Los Andes, where she is currently living. In 1985, following her passion to portraying the beauty of her surroundings and nature, she took her first photography course. In parallel, during 1986, she began to work in agriculture, where due to her connection with nature, she became in 1995 an organic producer, exporting fruit to North America, Europe, and Asia.
In 1989, parallel to agricultural and photographic work, she actively began her development in the artistic area, which from her childhood always caught her attention.
I attended classes with different painters. Always proactive and wanting to keep learning, she continued her studies in oil painting, watercolor, drawing, and the human figure at the Centro de Extensión of the Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile. In addition, later she took courses in goldsmithing, ceramics, and glass fusing.
These days her most used techniques are acrylic, watercolor and ink, she is also experimenting with xylography and digital painting.
With her brushstrokes of colors, with touches of fantasy, dreams, and imagination, she mixes and interprets what she sees in her environment.
She has always loved nature, passionate about observing the wide range of colors and combinations that can be founded in it, source of inspiration for many of her works.
She has exhibited her works in Chile and abroad, such as at Spectrum Miami 2019, United States, Affordable Art Fair Hong Kong 2021, Affordable Art Fair New York 2021, Artexpo New York 2021, World Art Dubai 2022 and Art Shopping Carrousel du Louvre París 2023
